as i watch the new southpark… which is a loose parody of heavy metal… and i realized that i don’t ahve the last two graphic novels to finish off my Transmetropolitan fix…… i think i’m gonna get back into comics… you better watch out bro’s… the giant has awakened.

Oh, and regarding what J.T. said above, the first issue of Secret Invasion comes out next week (unless you’re Patton Oswalt, in which case you’ve evidently already read the first four issues…fucker). If you’ve been following the build-up to this event, you know shit’s about to pop off in Marvel-town. Who do you trust? Is a member of the Rec-League All-Stars…a Skrull?!?!!

Yeah, I left my backpack at home for that show, but, if I recall, I was pretty amped, too. That’s still the best rap show I ever saw, by far. What a line-up (in case no one but Al and me knows what we’re talking about, this was the Lyricist Lounge show at House of Blues, Los Angeles, in 1998. Last Emperor, Black Star, Eminem (before his first Aftermath album dropped), Slick Rick, and more. Bananas.

And happy b-day, Shalem (and Matty, and Ian, and…a lot of other people, I’m sure). You chose some good comics there. Thunderbolts is dooooope. Today was my last day of official employment at the old comic shop, so I used my soon-to-be-extinct employee discount on the first two Walking Dead hardcovers. I’m really looking forward to reading them. I’m not looking forward to paying full price for comics again. I bet this here pull-list is gonna shrink up pretty fast.

i had a huge week at comic boom yesterday (my birthday). badger, mighty avengers, wolverine, x-men, ultimate human, spidey-with great power, badger trade #2, and batman-the killing joke (reprint special edition). thunderbolts-trade and all issues up to the lastest.

so i’m going to get everything alan moore has done. no brainer.
