Old School No Limit? the TRU double disk? No one giving a shit that Silk Da Shocker never rapped on beat ever? That Mercedez album cover? the “Bout it Bout it” Movie. Fuck I miss being a deliquent teenager. The days of ironing my Dickies with a cuff and a crease, actually having to find the piece of paper the girl gave you with her phone number on it, pulling a “runner” from the liquor store, house parties, brawls with other crews, the fucking good ol’ days. Atleast thats what crossed my mind when hearing this delightful ditty again after all these years. I’m on a mission to put together the best No Limit mix of all time, any help is much appreciated.
Certifed HIGH FIVE.
Sincerely bout it,
Proe

I was (am?) a No Limit Soldier. The first C-Murder album was phenomenal… anyone remember when people were saying he was supposed to be the new ‘Pac? I had/have so much No Limit shit it was/is obscene… I even have Mean Green and Skull Duggery for christ’s sake. I may have Mia X around here somewhere… Mr. Serv-On, Kane & Abel, Fiend, Beats By The Pound… fucking MOE B. DICK!!! Goddamn!! I Got the Hook Up still plays on BET every now and then (which is kinda sad). I feel like i’m 16 again.
Props on remebering that Mercedez album cover.

That cover was confusing to my young and impressionable mind. “How come the girls at my school aren’t like this?”

As someone who rocked the TRU double album hard in the 97-98 era, I would like to throw my 2 cents in.
Freak Hoes
I Got Candy
and finally, Fedz
Also, “Cops Runnin’ After Ya” by Prime Suspects, from the “I’m bout it” soundtrack. It was my first exposures to “getting it how I live,” which I have been doing ever since. I’m not sure if the Prime Suspects were actually No Limit artists, but it definitely was on a No Limit comp.
Hope this helps.

Mo B. Dick’s album is available… amazon baby. Also, Prime Suspects were signed to No Limit.
Master P feat. Steady Mobb’n – “If I Could Change” is an absolute must on any No Limit comp.
“I got a mouth to feed, but I still wanna hang on the streets, and smoke weed with the O.G.’s”
April 15th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Funny story, I have the “If I could Change” Cassingle…that beat is outta hand!
“Fast money got me trapped in the street game, before I die I hope I have a chance to make a change” HEat!

Why has no one brought up the Gambino Family?
Buncha damn haters on this shit.

Before brawling with a rival crew, a good hype song is Mr. Serv On’s “let’s get it Started”, from the Life Insurance album.
Soulija Slim has a slupmin track entitled “Street Life”, sounds better with 2 15’s rattlin in the trunk, blunt lit, cruzin slow down NW 39th St OKC.
Coldest MC to ever touch the Mic is on Track 12, West Coast Bad Boyz II. “I’m gonna be around, just like hand me downs, old ass playa still pullin dem panties down” RIP Andre Hicks

April 16th, 2008 at 5:34 am
maybe it’s an east coast thing but i have never ever listened to any no limit song all the way through. i don’t like any of it. i would be more than happy to give it a shot now though. once you compile that ultimate no limit mix let me know, i can hear what i’ve been missing.
April 16th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
You guys are forgetting soulja slim. shame on all of you.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
you know i didn’t forget about soulja slim, i shout him out on my record!
April 18th, 2008 at 9:38 am
Soulja slim aside. . . The quote “The days of ironing my Dickies with a cuff and a crease, actually having to find the piece of paper the girl gave you with her phone number on it, pulling a “runner” from the liquor store, house parties, brawls with other crews, the fucking good ol’ days.” nearly brought me to tears.
I miss California. . .
April 21st, 2008 at 3:29 am
Cali misses you sir. leave the land of small pants and ray charles shoes and come back to the birthplace of hyphy. thanks bruh
April 21st, 2008 at 11:55 am
young bleed was by far the most awesome dude from no limit. balls and my word is a classic and way better for ghost riding the whip than hyphy.
April 22nd, 2008 at 10:15 am
HAHAHA!!!!How you do dat dere…Young Bleed is dope
April 22nd, 2008 at 11:28 am
Young Bleed was the best rapper they had. Also The Magic album had joints.
Aside from “Bout It Bout It” (let’s not forget Camron on that remix) “Bourbon and Lacs” is my favorite No Limit diddy.
Props to anyone who remembers the TRU double disc.
How about some love for pre-No Limit Mystikal.
April 22nd, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Mind of Mystikal is a great album.
“Here I Go” and “Ya’ll Ain’t Ready Yet” are BANGERS!
April 24th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Damn Y’all are making me homesick.

I can remember exactly where i was the first time i heard the very first second of Ghetto D–that bubble sample…
Kinda like when people talk about where they were when kennedy was shot…but different.
And, I still have that youngbleed tape in my car. Right now.
…Yeah, I’ll admit it. I’m bout it.
shhheeeit.
“How ya do dat, dere?!”
