Remember when I used to blog.. Oh hilarity! Those were the days. Well, guess who’s back like you all give a ish?..That’s right The Chic-O-Stick is firm and keeping it’s pimp hand strong. Lots of albums released since last we met. Notably, Portishead finally released their long awaited third album, Gnarls under whelmed us with the Odd Couple and Atmosphere continued their move toward becoming the M Night Shamalan of indie Hip Hop..surprise twist.
I missed another week…despite my being out of school and unemployed, I still managed to get too busy for blogging. Not as busy as the rest of the Rec, many of whom are newly returned from the world-renowned Cheap Date Tour, but busy nonetheless. What I’m saying here, I guess, is “I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.” Like you give a fuck. No one reads this, and I only write it so routinefly.com has new material every week. Unless I blow it…then sometimes it doesn’t. I have things to do, you know, just like everyone else. Like watch footage from the Cheap Date Tour…I just saw a clip of The Saurus freestyling outside a club in Fresno, and it was bananas! Anyway, I’ll talk about some comics now.

So, you know how you think all your favorite rap groups are geniuses, and then you find the song they sampled for some beat you like, and now that you see how little they did with it, they don’t really seem like geniuses at all? I hate that. But really, that’s not what I’m here to discuss. It just seemed like an interesting way to kick it all off. What I have for you today are two Organized Noize samples, and they’re both hot beans. One of these is so hot, I almost hate to give it up, since I rarely see the sample referenced anywhere (a few years back, I played it for my man Mr. Sayre, and even he hadn’t heard it…and his knowledge is deep). But information is to be shared, right? Sure, why not. So here’s your two famous samples, America. Now go cram ‘em.

So I was going through some old home movies in my Grandma’s attic the other day, and I came across this little gem in a dark and dusty corner. I don’t know if this was ever actually aired. Nor am I certain of the exact relation of Mr. Hazard to myself. However, I do believe him to be family, perhaps a second or third cousin, possibly with some degree of removal. Anyway, check it out.
