Yeah, both those movies are dope. As far as British rappers, here’s my short list of good ones–Slick Rick, Tony Bones, and, uhhh…I’m thinking as hard as I can. My head hurts now. Sadly, the best example of Tony Bones prowess I can find is the song Splahin’ Over Monica, a dated Lewinsky-themed skeetfest with Mr. Live. But he still has some tight lines:

I don’t wanna make generalizations, but most rappers from the UK sound like they’re choking on words. Nonetheless, Slick Rick is one of the Top Five Dead Or Alive, which proves it can be done.

The funniest thing the Brits have ever done is Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz. Also British people rapping is pretty funny.

How ’bout the first season (or “series”) of Little Britain? Funny stuff. I like to laugh. And the “silliness” and non-sequiter-style jokes of movies like Anchorman isn’t far from Monty Python–naming a cologne Sex Panther is like Python’s “Whizzo Chocolate Company” with its Crunchy Frog and Ram’s Bladder Cup.

mighty boosh is a great example of british comedy… for those who don’t know… go on youtube and search “old greg” watch and love.

it is no anchorman, and maybe i shouldn’t have titled my post that. I have been on a big British kick for comedy though. I even bought an all region dvd player and ordered a bunch of British dvds. The Mighty Boosh(all three seasons), Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, Snuff Box, Ad/bc, Spaced, The IT Crowd… I guess i like that their humor is faster, darker and more dry than the majority of American stuff. You are right, the majority of British comedy blows, and the majority of American comedy blows, there are always exceptions

R.I.P. Arrested Development (Can’t wait for the movie next year!)

The Office is the best current American sitcom, and 30 Rock.
