Well, this is just fucking pathetic. Last week’s list was short, but this week’s isn’t even a list. It’s a single item. Trinity #3. And given how mediocre this title’s been so far, I don’t have high expectations. Maybe God is telling me I’m too old for comics…at least in a weekly format. Trade paperbacks seem more mature, somehow. It’s almost a real book! Whatever. I’ve been reading The Count of Monte Cristo for the past month or so (it’s over a thousand pages, so gimme a break), which is waaay more exciting and twist-filled than any comic I’ve read in a long while (well, Walking Dead is pretty great). But I guess that’s why it’s one of the most famous novels of all time, and people are still reading it 150 years after Dumas wrote it. I’m guessing no one will be reading Trinity next year, let alone in 2158. But I’ve been wrong before. I think.
Anyway, we get a couple good books in a week or two, so it’s time to start holding my breath. Hope I don’t pass out. Until then…

BUT Lil’ Wayne released the next four months of my life… I still like Snoop’s album better… who’s with me?
PS: i’m drunk… more detailed later.
OK, I’m always the last to know about what’s hot. If there’s a flavor of the month, I hear about it next year. I’m a late-adopter. What can I say? However, when something wicked comes my way, despite the fact that you’ve all probably heard it a million times already, I feel it’s my duty to shine a light, just in case some other clueless ape like me missed the boat. Or doesn’t even know what a boat is. With that in mind, allow me to introduce you to the album I’ve been listening to for the past week (and no, it’s not an illegal version of Tha Carter III, which is sure to take over my box soon enough). No, the album in question is a legal, free download, and it’s one of the most creative projects I’ve heard in a minute. So without further ado, may I present Rhymefest’s Man In The Mirror.
I’m baaaaack! Yeah, yeah, another day, another dollar. I will put it with two more, and then I can buy a comic. Plus tax. Actually, what I’m really excited about buying this week is of course Tha Carter III. So I’m a keep this brief…I gotta get to the store. But before I begin, I’d like to point out a format change. I’ll no longer be including my opinions on last week’s books in the body of the Pull List. Instead, I’ll hit ‘em up in the comments section of the appropriate week. So check last week’s blog for opinions on last week’s books. Makes sense, right? Word up. Let’s go.

More books, more looks. Releases are back on schedule this week, so no waiting that pesky extra day. Crack when you want it…now! Last week’s books were all good (I didn’t get Marvel 1985–anyone got a review for me?), and I especially enjoyed getting back into the DC Universe, from which I’ve been away so long–Final Crisis, despite some head scratching on my part over what are clearly Countdown references (fuck Countdown), was an enjoyable read that got me interested in the DCU again…and that’s what all these Crises are designed to do. It also featured a major and tragic event for the JLA that I need to see resolved, because it’s a real bring-down. Looking forward to number two.
