Jeez Louise. That Sara Silverm…uh, I mean, Wonder Woman has quite a mouth on her. I don’t even know what to say after that. Anyhoo, I missed my blog-deadline by a day or two, but I’m guessing you don’t care. Or exist. Either way, here I am now. Better late than never. Let’s roll.

So…comics. That’s why we’re here, right? I haven’t even read last week’s batch, on account of I’ve been a busy beaver (that’s a hip-hop term, right?) in the old studi-udi-udio. On a related note, Chart Toppers week five will be up soon, and I couldn’t be happier. But blame that song for the untimely delay of these here wordlings. Now that it’s all been said and done, we can talk funny books. So what came home with me yesterday? (And don’t think I’d let recording keep me from taking a trip to the comic shop.)

I usually take a peek at the new Vertigo titles, so not surprisingly I picked up Greatest Hits #1. It seems to be sort of a “what if the Beatles (or a band just like them) were actually a team of high-powered hitmen?” kind of story. You know…one of those. So we’ll see. The art looks good, which is always a plus.

Speaking of good-looking art, the exceptional work of Tony Harris graces the pages of Mark Millar’s War Heroes #2, which makes this a book I’ve been looking forward to. The first issue came out a while ago, I don’t remember it so well, but I know it sure was pretty. And Millar rarely disappoints. Can’t wait to read this one.

Mighty Avengers #18 looks like it’ll fill in more of the Nick Fury plot surrounding Secret Invasion. Oddly, much of the Secret Invasion “story” can only be found in Bendis’ Avengers titles, while SI itself seems to be mostly a punch-up. But I ain’t complainin’, mainly because I read those other titles anyway. If you don’t, well…sorry.

I guess that’s all for now. last week was a biggish one, this week was a smally. It’s like that…and that’s the way it is. Until next week, enjoy your life. I’ll try to do the same.

Bagged and boarded,

Grip

Too much. You think Wonder Woman freestyled that, or was it a written?

Something to say?
