Secret Six #2–The rare DC book makes it onto my list. I like this team, a ragtag band of sort-of-villains brought together during the aptly named Infinite Crisis miniseries Villains United. This issue looks like it promises a Batman/Catman face-off, which should be…well, something.
Marvel Zombies 3 #1–The first Marvel Zombies was pretty cool. The second one was lame-ish. This one oughta be a real stinker. But I know some of you will be buying this anyway. Me, I used to buy ‘em for the Arthur Suydam covers. Above, you see a Suydam VARIANT cover (availability uncertain). If I have to pay extra for a variant, I don’t buy it, with extremely rare exceptions. Also, I am over buying shit for the cool covers. I ain’t gonna put ‘em on my wall, and they don’t look that cool in a box. So….
Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane #3–Look, I just like Terry Moore. His current indie series Echo is awesome, if what you like is tightly knit storytelling and top-notch character development. He also writes this teen-toned version of the Spider-Man saga. So I’ve been buying it, because it’s better than his Runaways arc (also ongoing). Maybe I should just go back and read Strangers in Paradise, instead. I hear it’s good.
The Stand: Capatin Trips #2–The first one was pretty cool, if you like people being systematically consumed by their own snot. So far, Marvel has had pretty good luck with these Stephen King adaptations. I will buy it.
Dark Tower: Treachery #2–The second part of the third arc of another Stephen King thing. I still haven’t read the previous arc, just released in hardcover last week (yeah, I got it), but the FIRST arc was dope. I might get this issue, or I might wait for the trade. We’ll see how I’m feeling on Wednesday.
