Grip Grand’s Pull List For 12-17-08
It’s the mooooost wonderful tiiiiime of the yeeeeeear…Happy Holidays!! So, I won’t be around next week (goin’ to charming Cape Cod for Jesus’ b-day). You’re on your own for Christmas books. This might be my last pull list of the year…but probably not, I just haven’t checked a calendar yet. Anyhoo, I’ve got a list for tomorrow, and that should be enough for you.
Supergirl #36: New Krypton Part 8, if I’m not mistaken. Should be partly good and partly mismanaged, if the earlier chapters are any indication. Neato.
Thunderbolts #127: This book, under new management as of last issue, looks to be headed back towards greatness after a brief detour through Lamesville. Way to go, Andy Diggle.
Punisher War Zone #2: Not for the fainthearted, Garth Ennis’ Punisher Dirty-Harrys his way through more bodies per issue than most books see in a year. Good times. Welcome back, Garth.
Mighty Avengers #20: This team is headed for a break-up…in fact, every team Bendis currently pens was pretty badly burned by the events of Secret Invasion. The fallout begins here.
Invincible Iron Man #8: I like what Matt Fraction has done with this character, although I haven’t loved the art of late. Still, the “World’s Most Wanted” storyline begins here, and I wanna see where it’s headed. Tony Stark gets the shaft…blamed for the Skrull invasion, stripped of his authority, and despised throughout the known universe, old Shellhead has really caught a bad one recently. Hunted by the now-all-powerful Norman Osborn and his people, who can Tony still turn to? Should be a fun read. As a side not, I’d like to see Tony hook up with Spider-Woman, since everyone hates her now, too. Marvel’s most loathed couple…now that’s a book I’d read.
OK, kids, that’s all for me. Until I see you again, try to stay off Santa’s naughty list, and I promise that I’ll do the same. Peace and joy to you all this Holiday season, from me and the rest of the Rec. So say we all: Hallelujah!
Bagged and boarded,
Grip Grand
PS: Happy Hannukah, Kwaanzaa, New Year, and Tet!

Just wanted to say that Invincible Iron Man is definitely worth grabbing if you are interested in the current state of the Marvel Universe. Matt Fraction did a great job picking up the pieces after SI and creating a new status quo for Tony Stark. Read it.
