Grip’s Pull List For 02-25-09

It’s coming. Soon, soon indeed. Some of us have been waiting since 1986. And that’s a very long time. Will it live up to our expectations? Maybe not. Because it’s a movie. Not a comic book. But I’ll still be there with bells on, and I’m bringing my 11-year-old self along for the ride. I bet he’ll like it even more than me. He thought Tim Burton’s Batman was out of this world.
But enough about Watchmen. What about the comics of today? Well, most of them probably pale in comparison, but I’ll still be parting with a few bucks down at the local rack jobber this week. What will I get in return? I guess that’s the whole point of this blog, isn’t it. So keep your shirt on (except you, ladies).
Thunderbolts
New Avengers
Mighty Avengers
Captain America
Dark Tower
Green Lantern
There they are, that’s all of them. Which issues? The ones that are new this week, dumb-ass. Do I have to do everything for you? I’m already doing everything for myself. My hands are full, thanks. And if you want a blurb about each of this week’s comics, check out marvel.com or dccomics.com…that’s what I do.
Actually, I’m just rushing through this thing so I can get to the shop while the books are still hot. And I don’t want them to run out of some new indie title I might have bought if they’d only ordered three copies instead of two. That’s happened one too many times. For instance, they only order one copy of Geek Magazine. And sometimes another guy gets it before me. So I never did read that cover story about Tina Fey a few months back. Oh, well. Forgive me, Liz Lemon. Forgive me.
Alright, pardners. ‘Til next week, don’t hold those comics so close to your face. You’ll go blind that way.
Bagged and Boarded,
Grip Grand

I very recently watched Tim Burton’s Batman again and my current self loved it just as much as my 10 year old self! Still out of this world like Evie.
Although there is no way the Watchmen movie can live up to the book, I’m still gonna stand in line to see it Friday! IMAX baby!

Paid the extra 2 bucks to get tickets at a fancy pants theater with assigned seating. I think it will be an awesome comic movie, kinda got to leave it at that. I am going to temporarily suspend memories of rereading and finally understanding one of the best comics ever written in the break room at Streetlight or tracing the Owl ship when I was like 11 while think wow am I suppose to be reading this.
The rest of the Rec need to step up the blogging. Routine Fly is starting to look more like a comic site than a rapper guy site.
