Does it count as getting the cover if the magazine is all digital? Maybe not. But I did it anyway. Legend Mag gave the kid an interview and some shine. Big up to them. BIG Big up to Trevor Traynor who hooked me up with Legend and took all the photos. Trev is pretty much the boss of this whole camera shit. Check out his site and his blog to see some of the many stars that he has blessed with the gift. Cop a t-shirt if you’re feeling fashionable. I gotta run. I’m doing a High Times cover shoot today for their Champions of Chirp issue.
Big up to Arlene at Stash Magazine for inviting me to perform at this event. The video only has one song from the kid, but it has a few from Eligh & Jo Wilkinson (Eligh’s Mom) who just recorded an album together as well as some stuff from Afro Classics (Scarub & Very). The event is happening again with more Cunny this Wednesday (April 8th) at 330 Ritch in SF. City up, little doggie.
Here’s a couple tracks off the presses (computers). The first one is my take on a Busta Rhymes song that I believe is going to be on his forthcoming album, Back On My B.S. The other one is just a quick 16 that I wrote to enter the New Classics Mixtape Contest. Unfortunately, Imeem (AKA the shittier and more confusing Myspace) assed me out of the contest. It’s a long story. Enjoy. Or don’t.
Here’s a video I put together of Richie’s show a few months ago at the Independent. Crazy audio problems is why it took me so long to get it up, regardless hope you enjoy. We kept the camera rolling all night. Good Times. Shouts to Fashawn, Hecktik and that whole camp who are doin’ big things.
UPDATE: Not that it really matters in an 8 min video but this shit is driving me nuts… If your audio goes off sync in the last part of the video try watching it in regular format (just click the video it should open the YouTube page) and for some reason the regular format is in sync, while the HD isn’t. However the regualr format looks like SHIT once the credits start to roll. I guess we’ll just have to wait for the DVD release. Thanks YouTube.
You might recognize the name “Urban Renewal Project” from a little debacle I had a while back. Well URP’s DJ Sage & O-Dog have teamed up with Finale Design to unleash a new mixtape as well as a matching T-shirt. The mixtape features both new and classic music from tons of dope artists as well as an appearance from yours truly. Definitely worth checking out. Tracklist and download link after the jump as well as the shirt design and a link to cop one. (more…)
In case you’ve been under a rock somewhere… Richie Cunning is on the move in a big way these days. His newest accomplishment? A guest spot on the new Zion I mixtape! The mixtape (so not a tape anymore… does anyone have a tape player? i do.. ) is available for free download from the Zion I website. Props to Richie and to all the people that helped make this happen. Track list after the jump.
So heres the unofficial (but pretty official) video for my song “The City”. Filmed, edited and directed by the homie Matt Strauss. From what he tells me, it’s set to air on the Warriors Roundtable pregame show on both the 27th and the 29th (opening night) of this month. Big thanks to Matt for making this happen.
P.S. Rumor has it that this won’t be the Rec’s only appearance on the Warriors Roundtable this season…
